Cultural Diversity Resources (CDR) believes in the power, drive and daring of local BIPOC entrepreneurs to transform lives, revitalize neighborhoods and strengthen communities’ economies.

CDR primarily focus on low-income and undeserved minorities of color communities of Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead metro area in Cass-Clay counties to find the untapped talent of entrepreneurs and eliminate barriers to their success through long-term relationships and culturally competent programs. Individuals interested in starting a small business or current business owners interested to enhance or expand can apply for entrepreneur training.

CDR partners with Neighborhood Development Center (NDC), nonprofit and its Build From Within Alliance of 30 years, to provide entrepreneur training, small business lending and technical assistance. The mission is to empower local low-income minority entrepreneurs to transform lives and revitalize communities.

Entrepreneurship Training Program

Using NDC’s Traditional Plan It training curriculum, there are twelve classroom sessions, meeting once a week for two hours each and  held twice a year. Participants also receive one-on-one sessions with their trainer.

 

Training classes provide fundamentals of running a small business and develop a solid business plan, and include: 
•    Planning for Success
•    Introduction to Business Plan
•    The Market
•    Marketing -Branding and Digital
•    Management and Operations
•    Financing and Credit Review Process
•    Financial planning

CDR partners with institutions for small business lending, to provide access to business owners who may not be able to access traditional sources of capital.

CDR also partners with local experts and consultants to provide one-on-one technical assistance in recordkeeping, accounting, marketing and branding, web development, social media marketing and legal aspects of business, to our Plan It! graduates.

CDR, in partnership with NDC, provides a great opportunity for low-income and undeserved minorities of color individuals who want to learn, acquire skills and connections to develop small business with success!
